I like to get the most out of my products, it just so happened that my mechanic only looked at one side when he warned me I had around a month or so till my pads croaked. Till they burned through to the squeaker. The other side was the one that needed attention. Also, there are two pads per wheel, and the squeaker is only on one. So there was a 1 in 4 chance that the one pad that was super thin slipped through our precautions. I feel like I won the lottery because that one, that one special pad that hadn’t been checked and lacked a squeaker was the one about to wear through! I barely made it, as you can see in the picture below.
Rotors are fine!
In case you are wondering, a “squeaker” is that little metal tab that extends out a little past the minimal remaining pad, it squeaks really loud when the pad wears to it. It is supposed to warn you if your pads are low. Stupid useless squeakers. 😄
Wow! That has happened to my Father before, not very fun at, all

It’s very loud when the rotors hit the pad frame. VERY LOUD. I did this once with my ford ranger😄

Good. God. I recently had my front break pads worn to within inches of a Lays chip – okay, I exaggerate, but it was pretty bad. Not having a squeaker to sound me off would be terrifying for my daily commute. Also, thanks for educating me on what a squeaker is! You get a follow for that! 😉
